Thank you for visiting the Mbare Karate Club website. Mbare Karate Club is an affiliate club of the Shorin Ryu Shorinkan Association through Africa Chiba Dojo. We study under Kyoshi Harunobu Chiba (8th Dan) who is a direct student of our Grandmaster (Hanshi juDan) Shugoro Nakazato.
The dojo was opened in November 2005 by Sempais Nato Francisco and Paul “Pavlo” Babiolakis who are Sensei Chiba’s students. The aim of opening the dojo was to offer a discipline to the orphans and underprivileged youths in the suburb of Mbare, in Harare, Zimbabwe. Our dojo is committed to creating the opportunity for individuals to come together in an open, free environment that is supportive to all students whatever their experience, motivation, gender and age. Mbare Karate Club is the place for you if you want to develop your fitness, karate, self defence skills and the discipline that comes with Traditional Okinawa Shorin Ryu training. |
